But the gospels tell us that the disciples were never convinced that Jesus would be crucified, despite that he told them several times (Luke 18:34, Mark 9:32, Luke 2:50, John 12:16, etc etc etc). First, let’s take a look at any differences between the Lord Jesus before and after the resurrection. What should we be focusing on today? The ones that come to mind are the miraculous catch of fish, his appearance in a locked room and disappearing from the two disciples as they broke bread. After Jesus' crucifixion the disciples were left rudderless and disorientated but his appearance to them and the intensely motivating events of Pentecost rallied their spirits.
